The Moore House, a guide to Tiverton, RI

Let me tell you a story about Paradise Found. It begins with a two hour car ride from Boston down the Rhode Island shoreline line and ends with the most magical house on the water called the Moore House. A place where you fall asleep and awake to the sound of the waves gently brushing up against a tiny rocky beach from the window of your bedroom. And from the same window, you see the sun rise, the waters push in and out with the pull of the moon and your neighbors driving by on their sailboats.

What is this place? well, it’s not quite heaven – only because it’s reachable by car. It’s one of the Moore Family houses in Tiverton, RI. These houses where once forgotten residences, left to crumble and decay, when the Moore family gives them new life as boutique rental homes.

The Moore family owns and operates their renovated houses throughout the world and Rhode Island. the house we stayed in, the Boat House was oozing with humble design perfection that makes you want to move right in. Every corner was laid out with intention, but filled with all the comforts of home.The kitchen had everything you could ever need during your stay, including s’more supplies if the mood stroke.  However, my favorite room in the house was the living room that overlooked the water, in the mornings the soft light was nothing except mesmerizing.

If you are able to get out of the angelic beds with your view of ocean, then the Moore house has two kayaks tied under the wraparound porch. There is a sitting area for outside lounging or enjoying your meal in the sun. You may see the locals passing by, walking their dogs, OR Mr. Red,  a very foxy local who is known to pass through at twilight.
