Staying in Tuxbury’s Tiny Home Village

Tiny? how tiny is tiny really? We found out during our trip up to visit Petite Retreat‘s tiny home village in Tuxbury, NH. The village of five matches it’s quaint neighbor, the historic Amesbury, MA. Your drive up from Boston is a mere hour, but the scenic rolling hills and colonial homes checkering the drive will have you asking to sit in the passenger seat.

We had the divine pleasure of checking out these homes with the Petite Retreat team. However, the guest book in every home suggests that many adventures have already been had here. During my first night, the spring peepers filled the night air like a chorus, and the when the rain fell it slapped the roof like an old friend. Overall, a truly magical experience that I can’t wait to share.

Well this is a no-brainer, right? I mean you have to stay in Tuxbury Pond’s tiny village. Now, I stayed in “Henry” because I had a huge design crush on his log cabin exterior. He had a lofted bed, an ample closet, and a cozy kitchenette. He definitely packed a punch in the a lotted square feet. However, If you are bringing more than just your SO – I would opt for one of the four other tiny options.

Each house in the village is different. Coming in all shapes and sizes, you can definitely find the right house for your space needs. I also loved the Clara house, as it reminds me of quintessential New England. Oh man, am I predictable or what!

My favorite part about the tiny village is that it is surrounded by all the amenities of a bigger campground. You can take kayaks for a morning paddle or even use the event space that is just a walk away from your (tiny) front door. It is peaceful, quiet and quaint. The peepers fill the night air along with the crackle of your campfire as you light up a s’more.

Petite Retreats, the crafters of this village, also have locations in Florida and Maine (along with cabins and yurts).
