Materials for your DIY Padded Headband

1-2″ Foam (cushion foam at the craft store)

step two: Adhere foam to headband. You may need a little extra to fully covered. It is going to be completely covered in the end with fabric! so no worries if it isn’t smooth looking. Trim foam as desired. I trimmed the sides so they would be shallower than the top. In the end, my edges where 1/2 inch tall and my 1.5 inch on the top.

step three: Make your pattern. Measure the circumference of the end of the headband and the middle. Using these two numbers make a pattern as shown:

step four: Sew along the dotted edge. Flip to expose right side and pull over the foam. This may take a little tugging, no worries this is normal.

A: circumference of the end of your headband
B: circumference of the middle
C: Length of the the headband

step five: Close the raw edges with a spot of glue.
