5 things you need for Coachella more than a cute outfit

Whether you are headed to Coachella to listen to your favorite artists or to catch a glimpse at your favorite celebrity, there are some things you need to pack in order to survive a weekend in Palm Desert.

The hunt for the perfect Coachella outfit often overshadows the need for protection from the elements, and the fact you plan to be outside for three straight days. In order to survive this festival, pack the five essentials on this list

Sunscreen

It goes without saying that the desert is hot. There is rarely a cloud in the sky and many of the stages do not have adequate shade. Load up and reapply that SPF in order to have happy, instagrammable skin. This is my favorite sunscreen.

Dust Mask

I’m sure you’ve seen someone in the airport or your local painter with one of these. It’s true, they are not the most fashion forward. However, if you don’t want to cough up dust for three week post festival, I suggest you pack one of these. They are usually about $2 at home depot. we covered ours with a bandana and usually wore it while we were in the crowd or walking out. if there’s a pack of people, there’s going to be a pack of dust. this is one you can order on amazon.

Camelbak

this is a great way to store water. It’s hot and dusty. Water is essential in the Coachella marathon. A Camelbak comes with a reusable pouch or “bladder” (which i refuse to call it) and doubles as a backpack to store all your essentials. this is the one we used

Gum

Gum is like a lighter. It’ll help you make festival friends. There is a unspoken rule at festivals that you look out for each other. Not only are you going to want it, but others will too.

Ear plugs

My boyfriend and I religiously wear our ear plugs. i can’t tell you the amount of people who ask me why. I don’t want a hearing aid at 40, and neither do you. If you invest in a 20$ pair, like these, you can use them at workout classes and concerts after the festival.
